March 2008 - This pub has an absolutely spectacular roof top patio overlooking Circular Quay. Prices of both food and drink are reasonable for the view you get. The pub is in an old building situated at the top of the Rocks and has fantastic views of the opera house, the CBD and the harbour. They have the usual pub food with burgers and fish and chips. The fish and chips I had there were really good but this is something you can order anywhere in Sydney. I think it is the kind of place I prefer to order a few appetizers to share around the table. They have good vegetarian nachos (which are hard to find in Sydney) and a good plate of breads and dips. The building is old and charming and the bar at the street level feels like a good neighbourhood pub, although I must admit, I have never sat inside. It is a relaxed pub feeling and is a great place for a sunny Sunday afternoon drink and meal. Again, the rooftop patio is the best place to sit on a sunny day. I believe the Glenmore Hotel probably has the most reasonably priced drinks and food for that kind of view in all of Sydney.
