June 2008 - Joey's Only Seafood Restaurant is part of a franchise throughout Canada and in parts of the United States. In Camrose you access Joey's close to the edge of town as you travel west on Hightway 13.
The server was friendly and effecient. When she realized I was on a birdwatching trip she was quick to talk to me a moment about our feathered friends.
Fish and Chip meals came with Halibut, Haddock or Cod. There was also a good representation of ribs and chicken entres. The Halibut cost $14.99 for two pieces of fish, and the Haddock was about $12.00.
I was in a hurry, so I didn't order any beer or wine but they were available. I appreciate seeing a six oz glass of vino for less that $5.00! Desserts ranged from two to four dollars.
I ordered a Salmon Burger and really enjoyed it. It was a nice change from typical beef burgers. The meal came with potatoes and a Caesar Salad. Although neither of the sides were exceptional, they went down quite easily. There were about ten different sides to choose from with each meal. With that number, there's something for everyones' taste.
This particular Joey's was having an All You Can Eat Ribs night on Thursday for $13.00. I'm not sure if that happens every Thursday or whether it was a special occasion.
I enjoyed my experience at Joey's, and will definitely return to try some of the other sides dishes!
