December 2007 - Fluids is a fairly new restaurant and bar. It is located just off Highway 22, on the north side of town. The atmosphere is very quiet and the lighting is low. There are many booths around the side of the restaurant and open tables in the middle. Also, there is seating at the large bar. The booths are fairly private and cozy. There are hardwood floors and nice pendant lamps over the tables. The décor is rustic, with pine boughs and red bows strung about for Christmas. The staff is friendly and there are enough waitresses to pay proper attention to guests. I ordered the baseball steak. It was cooked perfectly and there was a rosemary port gravy over the meat and grilled vegetables. My fiancé had the salmon with grilled vegetables and jasmine rice. We both had seared mushrooms as well. The portions were just right. There are a wide variety of specialty beers and mixed drinks. For dessert, we had a chocolate cream tort. It was served with raspberry sauce and real whipped cream. They waitress brewed us some fresh coffee as we ate our dessert. The bill was just over $65.00 for our dinners, dessert and drinks. If ever in Drayton Valley, visit fluids for a wide variety of meals and fast, attentive service in a cozy atmosphere.
