August 2008 - The Terracotta Cafe in Wetaskiwin certainly is appropriately named. It is painted a clay color, and the decor inside is mainly in earth tones. This makes for a restful atmosphere for dining. The washroom was very basic, but very clean. Because this is situated in a strip mall, there is lots of parking, which is welcome. The service was prompt and efficient, but we did not feel rushed when a few more minutes were needed for a member of the party to make a decision. This restaurant has a senior's menu, and encourages anyone to order from it. Their advertising pamphlet includes information on their catering service, as well as a take out menu. I chose the senior veal cutlet, and was pleased that the cutlet was totally tender, without any gristle. An accompanying salad was fresh and tasty. My dining partners were pleased with their choices as well- fish and chips, teriyaki chicken stir-fry, and a club house sandwich special. The restaurant was fairly busy, but has divided sections which gives a sense of privacy. The prices were very reasonable so it was all in all a great experience.
