October 2007 - After checking in I attempted to turn up the heat in the room which was supplied by the gas fireplace. No heat would come out no matter how high I turned up the thermostat. I called the front desk and they informed me that I must be doing something wrong and to try again. I told them nothing was working and only after almost two hours of waiting in the chilly room someone finally showed up at the door. This young man not only did not know anything about the fireplace or how to get it to work. He apologized and said that something would be done about the heat but nothing was done for the remainder of the night!! We stayed any way since it was late and we were tired and bundled up to keep warm thinking that the owners would refund our money in the morning. When I checked out the front desk person said that she spoke to the manager and that a refund would not be given. Then only after another 10 minutes of complaining about the service, the manager finally came out and walked right past us saying he was going to check the fire place himself. He came back shortly after and said that the fire place was fine and it was hot like a sauna in the room!! I told him that this was not the case. I was furious but paid for the room any way letting them know that I would let every one I could know about my experience there! I will never stay there again!

July 2007 - This hotel boasts fireplaces, jacuzzis, and air conditioning...sounds all good until we checked in. The bathroom had not been cleaned, obvious by the dirty towels on the floor, leftover shampoo bottles, dirty toilet seat, etc. The maid argued that it wasn't her job to clean, blamed it on other chambermaids not doing their job, (that all we really needed were some clean towels) and she was off duty at this time. Then she quickly wiped down surfaces using a cloth without a cleaner. The phone did not work - no dail tone. Although the front desk clerk did her best to make things right, we will never stay here again - especially at 140.00 night!
