| "Excellent choice for business or family" |

August 2007 - We stayed one night in the Service Plus Hotel in Grande Prairie, Alberta. We booked over the phone and received a business rate. Everything was exactly as promised upon our arrival. Front desk staff was very efficient and friendly.
Room was extremely clean and well-stocked. But the best part (especially for very weary travelers) was the view from our window (#411). It was a view I had seen before (as an ex-farm girl) but never from a hotel window. There stretched out to the horizon was a vast field filled with giant round bales -- and then later bathed in cerise pink rays from a gorgeous sunset, the view became even more stunning.
The room came equipped with a small fridge, coffee maker and supplies, usual bathroom amenities, a terrycloth robe, ironing board and iron, TV and video game system.
A complimentary breakfast (in true European style) is offered in the small breakfast room right across from the front desk. Well-rounded fare consisted of quality yogurts, b'fast cereals including granola, waffles and syrup, toast, muffins (very tasty fruit and bran), bagels and cream cheese, apples, bananas, and oranges, juices, coffee, tea.
Downsides to this simple hotel: Waterpark closed for renovations. Nearby restaurant closed permanently. Casino next door is really pitiful -- Very smokey, unfriendly attendants, and slot machines were old (still dispensing coins) and very finicky, constantly malfunctioning. Waiting for an attendant took forever.
A big plus is the large Save-On-Foods grocery store just a short walk away. In addition, many large name box stores are very close by. We bought some supper from the hot foods deli and ate in-room. Excellent sandwiches can be purchased, too, and stored in the fridge for the next day's lunch.
We would stay here again.
Best things: View from room, exceptional cleanliness, and awesome breakfast.
