by Olga (from Revere, MA) June 2008 - My daughter and I were guests of my neice's wedding at the Kananaskis Resort in June of this year. We reside in the Boston area and this was our first visit to Alberta and didn't know what to expect. We were pleasantly surprised upon arrival and our stay was very enjoyable. The wedding ceremony was celebrated outdoors. The weather was especially warm and delightful. The resort wedding planner did an exceptional job coordinating the wedding site, the reception following, and the dinner following that. The buffet-style food was varied and delicious. The staff was very accommodating to any suggestions posed by an invited guest to this particular wedding. We had a wonderful time at the resort; my daughter especially. since there were many, many guests within her age group. The breakfast grill room had a wonderful choice of food on the buffet table and the prepared-to-order omelets were a treat. The scenery surrounding the resort is spectacular! I wish we had more time to explore deeper into the Rocky Mtns.

by Tanya (from Calgary) October 2007 - I love that there are very limited choices of hotels to stay at in Kananaskis but even if there was more choice, the Delta Lodge would still be a where I would want to spend the weekend. The Delta has been there for some time and although some of the rooms are in need of a reno, the hotel is still a luxury. We got one of the un renovated rooms at first but they were quick to please when we asked for an upgrade to a room with a king sized bed. They found a room for us in the Executive club so that we also got daily appetizers and breakfast included. The customer service is fantastic and this upgrade was an additional treat. There is not a lot to do in Kananaskis but that is part of the beauty of it. The Delta has a couple restaurants and lounges and a great recreational facility and spa. There is an indoor pool, an indoor/outdoor hot tub and a small gym with all the necessary equipment. Although I did not take part in any actual spa treatments, it looked like a beautiful spa with all the usual treatments offered. The hotel is part of the village and is located right by a number of hiking trails and a short shuttle to Nakiska ski hill. The scenery is amazing from every window and patio and would be a great place to hold a wedding or other special event. The hotel lobby often has a pianist playing by the fireplace where you are welcome to sit and relax. There are a few stores in the hotel but they sell primarily touristy stuff or stuff you might need at elevated prices. The Delta Lodge in Kananaskis is the perfect place to go for a quiet but comfortable weekend getaway in the Rockies.
