March 2006 - I stayed at the Lake Louise Inn for a weekend snowboarding trip and was really pleased with both the location and the service. Even in the cheapest type of accommodation there was still plenty of room and the usual facilities like a TV and a little corner for knocking up hot drinks. The bathroom was clean and the bath tub was big enough for me to soak off a day on the piste (I'm over 6ft tall). Most of the guest rooms are located in separate buildings to the main reception, which is also where the bar, restaurant and pool are. This is perhaps the only real gripe I have with the place. If it's really cold and snowy it's an unpleasant walk from the furthest rooms.
It takes just a few minutes for the free bus to ferry you up to the ski area and there are a few shops and cafes close by in the village. The hotel is also easy to find once you turn off Highway 1.
