May 2006 - The menu on their website looked great and we had a gift certificate, so I was really looking forward to dinner here. Unfortunately, it was very disappointing because of the service.
Waterton is very, very quiet in May, so we didn't make a reservation. When the two of us arrived at 6:30, they wouldn't give us a table. Half the restaurant was empty (I counted 9 empty tables) but they would not give us a seat. They told us we could have a table in two hours! After several minutes of discussion they finally conceeded that they might have room in an hour, so we could try back then, but they were really making an exception, and being very good to us, blah, blah.
When we came back in an hour, sure enough, the restaurant was only 3/4 full. There were at least 3 tables that had sat empty the entire hour they were "too busy".
The food was tasty, but after the wait, anything would have tasted good. A couple of menu items that we wanted to try and that were listed on the website were no longer available. Although the food was tasty, you could find a meal just as good, at a better price at over a dozen restaurants in Calgary.
