October 2007 - Our party had two rooms--non smoking. The rooms were clean, the beds were comfortable, we were warm and safe. It was a good night's sleep. The hosts were welcoming. The breackfast was great. The service was excellent. I will be happy to stay at the Highwood the next time I am in the Pass. I will recommend it to my friends.

August 2007 - I stayed here on the long weekend and I can't say anything bad about the room or the restaurant service. The rates were affordable;it was quiet inside and out;lots of TV channels;everything was clean and tidy. I will definetly stay here again and would recommend it to anyone.What was nice is having a restaurant attatched with a great selection to choose from.

July 2007 - The Motel charged our credit card upfront, even though we did not stay for the second night. They would not give us a confirmation number when we called to book the room in advance. They would not provide us with a properly itemized receipt, showing price per room, taxes etc. Some people paid more, some less than us for the same room, same time span. The air conditioner worked only part of the time, the room was quite dirty/ dusty/ mouldy and to fold out the ancient hide-a-bed for our kids, we had to move all the furniture around to have enough space to unfold it and reveal more dirt and BUGS! We also had no hot water in the morning. There was a disgusting smell coming from the sink, every time somebody turned on the water. The "cleaning crew" that came around in the morning did not even carry a vacuum cleaner and as far as we could tell, they only exchanged dirty towels. The TV was a whopping 20 inches and the picture was totally orange. Overall, we would rather sleep on the side of the road, than stay there again... The Motel should be condemned!

June 2007 - This motel is in serious need of updating. The bathroom floor was sticky, a "hair" (and I think you know what kind) was on the bathtub, and there were 2 bugs that I saw coming off the carpet and into the bathroom. The tv was good, with lots of channels. The carpet felt kinda greasy with bare feet. Also, there is no airconditioning, only an air exchanger, so it got pretty darn hot in there with 2 adults and 3 kids. The restaurant is really good there with excellent customer service and pretty good food. I'd stay there again, if I had no other alternative....we like to go to the pass to go quadding.
