June 2008 - As is customary with my friends and I, anytime a new or renovated casino opens its doors in the city, we have to check it out as soon as possible, and the new Stampede Casino is no exception.
Simply put, the new Stampede Casino is the closest anyone who cannot go to Las Vegas will get to experiencing a true Nevada-style casino. The interior isn't drab like Elbow, or overtly Calgarian like Deerfoot Inn, this establishment is simply class all the way.
I have to assume, the team behind it's construction spent alot of time in Las Vegas, and in particular the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino on Paradise Road, because with the exception of a hotel lobby, its design is eerily similar, and in no way is that a bad thing. Now if only they had a buffet worth talking about...oh well you can't have it all.
