| "Excellent experience" |

October 2007 - On October 20,2007 I unfortunately had a situation arise where emergency surgery was required - not life-threatening by any means, but urgent.
I arrived at the Rockyview Hospital ER at about 3:30 - they were expecting me due to a call from my physician. In a very short time someone from the appropriate department came to to ER to meet me and let me know what woul be happening. Then another very short wait until I was registered. After registration I headed off with a physician for an examination and then was sent over to Day Surgery. I spent the night there and had my surgery first thing the next morning.
I was very impressed with how quickly I was looked after. Most importantly, I was extremely impresed with how friendly everyone that I dealt with was - from the first ER clerk who spoke to me, to the registration staff and physicians, and mostly of all with all the nurses on Day Surgery. These people all seemed to care and were very kind, and attentive. On Sunday morning I met more people before my surgery, and again what great people - from the porter who took me to the OR, to the anesthetist, the nurses and the surgeon.
My heartfelt thanks to everyone who helped me out at the Rockyview. They all made my stay much more pleasant and comfortable than I had expected.

| "The Good and The Bad" |

July 2007 - I recently took my mom to Emergency at the Rockyview because she had fallen and broken wrist. Here are my observations:
THE GOOD:
- Most of the staff were great
- It took about five hours from start to finish (admitting, x-rays, evaluation, cast etc)
- The hospital was clean and well equipped
THE BAD:
- The emergency doctor asked patient history questions in front of other patients (drug use, allergies, weekly alcohol consumption etc)
- The emergency doctor chastised a fellow hospital employee for being tardy in front of patients and staff
- Parking was a nightmare
