| "Cheap Pasta Tues-Sun" |

by Mary (from Calgary) May 2009 - This Italian restaurant has some very reasonable prices and really great pasta. The prices go down from Thursday to Sunday for an all day special. Before every meal, you are served with fresh oven baked bread with an olive oil / balsamic vinegar dip. It is really good for such a simple combination. I love piping hot fresh bread and this places gives you as much of it as you want. The pasta dishes are also really great. I’ve gone several times and I always ends up getting the same dish because I like it that much, its the Fettucine du Chef which is a green spinach based pasta with pesto sauce and chunks of smoked salmon in it. Simply delicious! And on top of that, since the portions are so big, I always have enough to bring home for tomorrow’s lunch. The service is good and you are generally always able to get a table whenever you go without a long wait, even on the Tues-Sun when its on sale. They also have gluten free dishes for those you want or require it. So I’d recommend giving it a try. For th extra hungry, you can supersize your meal for a small price as well.

by Laura (from Calgary) May 2008 - My boyfriend and I come to the Chianti's on Macleod every month, and I have never been dissapointed! If you have ever been to Italy, you will appreciate how this restaurant serves their food. It is simple yet classy, and always delicious. They don't add fancy things that aren't necessary for the dish, you just get what you order. The only thing that isn't really authentically Italian is the salad; in Italy, you get the salad without any dressing on it, and you get oil and vinegar to put on the salad yourself. Of course, this is not a very Western thing, so they serve house salad with simple Italian dressing, and a simple caesar salad. The food and drinks as well as the prices are great. The service has always been fantastic and friendly. I would recommend this place to anyone if they are looking for a nice night out

by Carrie (from Calgary) May 2008 - Chianti used to be at the top of my list for dinners out. For no particular reason I haven't been in ages until this past weekend when we stopped by for dinner. I could tell immediately that little had changed in my absence. The Willow Park location was packed but after only a few minutes wait we were seated. The tables are crammed together and except for a few inches we were practically sitting with the people beside us. Our server found us immediately and efficiently took our drink order and was back in a flash with wine and dinner orders. I selected the Linguini Pepperonata (Calamari, black olives, roasted red peppers and spinach in a creamy dill sauce) and my husband had the Linguini Marinara. Both dishes were excellent with good portions. For desert we had the chocolate raspberry mouse which was great as well. The basic atmosphere and abrupt service may not be for everyone but to me it feels authentic and conjures up fond memories of Italy. Best of all the price is right and they even have $7.99 pasta specials on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday.

by Chinface (from Calgary) March 2008 - The Chianti's on 32nd avenue, is one of those places I go to only for lunch, and order the exact same thing everytime.
The fettuccine supremo (which is fettuccini with curry, scallops, and smoked salmon).
This time in particular, I was once again treated to a great portion of pasta at a really, reasonable price. Needless to say I was not disappointed.
The curry was not spicy in the least, but still had lots of flavour, and their was a ton of salmon and scallops in the mix.
The service was satisfactory, it wasn't like my party made our server work, but what we asked for we got promptly and that was that.
If your looking for a decent lunch option, and you're in the northeast, check out Chianti's. You won't complain.
