| "service is not bad!" |

by Fang-Han (from Calgary) May 2009 - The service here is really good. My husband and i came here for a quick snack and some bubble tea, so we ordered two bubble teas and a deep fired squid. The tea came in no time, BUT the squid NEVER came, we waited about half an hour and then when we saw the people that came in later than us get their food, we demanded a re-fund on the squid! The server said sorry many times and re-funded everything! So even though we never got to taste the food, we would go back for the good service.

by Keith (from Calgary) December 2008 - My friends and I used to come by Bubblemania for wings (which are .35 cents most nights) on a semi-regular basis. I haven't been back since December and here's why:
As you may or may not know, this "cafe" specializes in a variety of bubble tea and dessert drinks. As such they have a "minimum drink order of $3.50". Fair enough, considering how cheap the wings are.
Well the last time we went to Bubblemania, I wasn't exactly thirsty, although I was up for wings and dessert, so I just had a glass of water. When it came to ordering I decided to try a strawberry crepe for $6.
The crepe was acceptable even though it was probably frozen. The wings were good as usual. And the service was okay.
That was until we got the bill...
On the bill was everything we had order along with a $3.50 charge for nothing!
We immediately asked the server what was up with the $3.50 charge. His reply.
"$3.50 minimum drink order."
My reply:
"But I ordered a $6 crepe!"
His reply:
"But it's a minimum drink order of $3.50 per person."
At that point I realized it was beyond our server's comprehension that selling a $6 crepe and keeping a table happy was in the best interest of the restaurant, so we paid the tab and left.
I've never been back.

by Chinface (from Calgary) February 2008 - First thing's first. Don't expect good service. If you can look past the service, you'll be alright.
Go to this place on Tuesdays or Thursdays for their wing specials. Unlike other places, Bubblemania still cooks their wings to order, which makes for some juicy delights.
Furthermore the drinks are pretty good. I personally enjoy the personal sized ginger-tea-pot. Perfect for winter months this tea is quite possibly the equivalent of chowing down on a piece of ginger-root the size of your fist.
In the end, go to Bubblemania for the wings, but remember to not expect good service.
