August 2008 - Those who enjoy sweet flavored tobacco will revel in this authentic environment. However, service and quality leave a lot to be desired. Located downtown, this Mediterranean restaurant tries to attract the business lunch crowd. However, with a 60 minute wait time for items like salads, most leave disappointed. At night, the place gets busy and servers are upfront and not necessarily tactful when they tell customers that food or drinks must be purchased in addition to shisha.

October 2007 - This is a cool place to hang out and a great place to eat. I am a huge fan of Cafe Med's flavourful pizza pies. The service is alright, but it suits the cafe's chilled-out atmosphere. The interesting flavours of sheesha offer a fun, social way to pass the time while waiting for a dish but can be quite pricey.
It's too bad that operations like this were affected negatively by the smoking ban in Calgary—an otherwise good move on the city's part.

September 2007 - I've been to the Cafe Med twice and both times I've really enjoyed their pita wraps-try their falafel wrap. Prices are very reasonable and they also have a take out menu.

September 2007 - If you're looking for a casual laid back place and a great meal and enjoy hookah pipes, then this is a great place to go. I've never tried a hookah pipe but it didn't really look all that appealing to me. It seemed strange to see businessmen working away on their laptops and smoking a hookah or seeing people practically lying down and smoking one. Anyway, the food is good, and I would go back. I recommend the Falafel Pita.

August 2007 - Good thing I tried their take-out before I actually ate in the restaurant. The food is delish but the interior is a bit dingy and our table needed to be wiped down but no one seemed to think they should clean it for us. But my meal made up for the table crumbs! We were served quickly and the food was amazing. All I ask if for a little wipe of the table...that's all!

September 2006 - I checked out the Med Lounge for the first time today and I was very impressed. I got take-out with some girls from work and everyone was very happy with their meal. I tried the falafel pita which was delicious and came with a large side Caesar salad for only $5.50! The person behind the counter was very pleasant and even gave us each a complimentary baklava (which was also very tasty). I was very happy with everything and will definitely go back!

August 2006 - I work near Cafe Mediterranean and eat there at least once a month. I am extremely addicted to their baked lasagna. It is very cheesy and delicious! It is served with garlic pita bread. The restaurant also makes a great Greek salad and their chicken shawarmas are divine as well.
