by Martha (from Calgary) August 2006 - I went to Bungalow for drinks with friends on a Friday after work. It wasn't too busy which was nice but by the time we left around 9, it was starting to get fairly packed. All the drinks and glasses of wine are $9, and appetizers are around $12-$15 (I didn't have any though so I can't comment on the food). I ordered a fabulous Mojito, and after that I ordered Sangria, which was awful (it was NOT what Sangria is supposed to be like - it tasted more like a tequila sunrise, and was cloudy with no fruit and hardly any, IF any, wine). I asked the waitress if I was sure it was Sangria, and she looked at me like I had three heads and told me that OF COURSE it was and what on earth else would it be? Didn't I know what Sangria WAS? Because if I did I would know that this is sangria! It wasn't really a big deal, but at $9 a drink I would expect her to be a bit more polite. By the end of the night I had a $45 tab and wasn't even tipsy. Bungalow is the type of place that Calgary's trendy wealthy youth go, but as for me, I would feel much more comfortable at the Ship & Anchor next door.
