| "So Bad" |

by Jim (from Calgary) August 2007 - I was there with three friends on a thursday night over the summer. The bar was mostly empty, maybe 15 - 20 people. Not a bad singer/guitar player doing some Johnny and Blue Rodeo. Waited forever for my first beer while the hipster bartender made out with his girlfriend. Went for my second beer about a half hour later and the bartender was nowhere to be found. There wasn't any other staff to be seen. Eventually he came in and explained that he was out smoking a doob, but no worried dude, i'm here now!
Later, while we were on the patio he took a break from his second joint that night to let us know we had to get off the patio if we wanted to smoke. We left.

| "rockin' bar" |
by liv (from calgary) January 2007 - This is a small bar with an awesome atmosphere. The band that night was a rocking four-piece country/rockabilly band from Calgary. The drink menu was standard and the staff was super friendly. The atmosphere and the decor make this place. Great night at a great bar.

| "Cozy place, great atmosphere" |

by Dave (from Calgary, AB) October 2006 - Small, cozy, out of the way place with great crowds and friendly bar staff, which also happen to be the owners. Very unpretentious, come as you are atmosphere, with great live bands. We saw Tim Hus and it was a perfect venue for his style of show. A little piece of the country in the heart of Calgary. Obvious Johnny Cash flavour abounds.

| "Exceptional Patio/Chicken Coup" |
by Trenton (from Calgary) July 2006 - I have been to A Bar Named Sue once, and I had a very average experience. That is until i realized the patio area is fenced off with what looks like authentic chicken wire. The best part of the bar is the decor, but beware of looming old men trying to pick up all the 20-year-old girls at your table. The drink selection was pretty standard. The entertainment was one mediocre country-style singer with a guitar, and although he claimed to be a huge Johnny Cash fan, he could only play one of several Cash covers we requested. Unless you are hanging out in the kitshy patio/chicken coup, you will probably be disapointed.
