| "Great Pizza, Great Value" |
|
|
by Mike (from Calgary, AB) April 2007 - I've heard good things about this pizza joint, so my family and I decided to check it out last night for dinner. I ordered the Santa Fe Chicken; my wife the No-cheese Spicy Veggie; and my two young boys had the Cheeseburger (it's a pizza) and the Pepperoni off the kids menu.
The Verdict: My wife and I both agreed that the Spicy Veggie was the best of the four, but we were pleased with the originality and quality of all of them. The Cheeseburger pizza was a bit strange because it actually tasted like a cheeseburger (surprise, surprise) complete with bacon and ketchup. What I liked most is that they didn't skimp on the meat or veggies -- and there was lots of cheese.
Overall, I'd definitely recommend Coco Brooks. It's kid-friendly, and the quality/value is hard to beat. Without drinks, I think our total bill came to just over $20.

| "Terrific pies" |

by Minnie (from Calgary) January 2005 - I used to work near Coco Brooks and ate there fairly frequently. My verdict? It's great value for your money and the pizza is quite tasty. My only complaint would be that they're not flexible with toppings. The pizzas are pre-made, so what you order is what you get--no adding or subtracting. But they have so many choices, I'm sure anyone could find something they like. They even have breakfast pizzas and dessert pizzas, and while I've never tried the breakfast one I can attest that the banana bread and cinnamon dessert pizzas are fantastic. You can choose to dine in, take away or you can even buy the frozen pizza and cook it yourself for less money. I started going there about 5 years ago when they were at their old location and their prices haven't gone up since then!
They're closed on Sundays in order to give their staff a day off. This is something else I really like about them -- it's refreshing to see a restaurant that values their employees over the almighty dollar.
