| "Pleasing to the palate!" |
by Terri (from Calgary) January 2008 - The menu was a fair size with much variation. Standard chicken, beef, pork, seafood and vegetarian options. Classics such as chow mein and ginger beef were offered, but the majority of the dishes seemed unique to Chili Island's menu. Tasted items were the spring rolls; coconut, mushroom and chicken soup; sweet corn & chicken soup; and chicken over fresh spinach in a chili peanut sauce. The spring rolls seemed fresh and had a surprising taste of curry added to the all vegetable filling. The coconut soup was delectable and left you wanting more. It would be more than filling and satisfying as a meal on its own. The corn and chicken soup was rather flavourless and should be passed up. The chicken and spinach dish was tasty. The sauce, being more of a red curry coconut sauce than peanut, was nonetheless marvelous, being a balanced mix of sweet and spicy. Two thumbs up!

by E (from Calgary) January 2008 - the food is amazing, i always recommend this place to my friends. rated the ambience a bit lower because i find it a bit dark in there and the tables are either too high or the seats are too low.. it is a bit pricey I found but the food is worth it! I would highly recommend this place to anyone though, and I have gone back many times and will continue to do so :)

| "Worst Thai Food" |
by Angela (from Calgary) November 2007 - Been there on two occasions (second time to give it a second chance) and found food to be pricey and terrible. I think they were going for a Thai-Chinese menu. Definitely not authentic Thai or Chinese cuisine. If they were going for western fusion (I'm asian, but I like western-asian fusion), they failed at that too. Food is just not good.
