by Keith (from Calgary) June 2009 - I just found out the first Boston Pizza was founded in Edmonton.
That explains the perogy pizza.
Which is exactly what I ordered when I stopped by the Marlborough location for lunch with some friends.
Gotta admit, the 10" perogy pizza I ordered was really, really good. The crispy cheddar along with the bacon (or bacon bits, I'm not really sure) made my meal feel more like a big snack. Be warned though, the pizza does not hold up after a night in the fridge. In hindsight I should have bought the 8".
One of my pet peeves is servers who are too scared to approach a table because their food is late. Which is why I appreciated the service at this BP. The second it seemed like our food was taking a bit more time than it should, our server came to the table and explained there was a mix up and the food would be another 10 minutes, which none of us had a problem with.
Let this be a lesson to any server out there. Be honest with your customers and don't just avoid an uncomfortable situation. 9 times out of 10 your tips will be better off for it.

by Denny (from Calgary, AB) March 2009 - Unexpectedly, we ended up in the Mackenzie Towne area of Calgary and thought we better eat something before we took the trek back home to our downtown area home. There is a Boston Pizza right in the middle of a bustling shopping centre, right off 130th Avenue.
My wife and I chose to dine in the restaurant area, seeing it was St. Paddy's Day and I didn't want to hang out in the busy pub/lounge. We were greeted by the hostess quickly and were seated at a table right in the middle of the restaurant. I was pleased to see that on Tuesday's they offer $9.75 gourmet pastas or other pasta for around $7. I chose to have the spaghetti and meatballs. The server warned me that it was very large, but I said I could handle it and would likely eat half my wife's too. My wife ordered the Homestyle Lasagne and we both had caesar salads to start.
The caesars were very tasty and when my spaghetti arrived, it was a massive portion, but while eating it I realized the great majority of it was noodles. It tasted great though. My wife really liked her lasagna.
The only downfall is that by sitting in the restaurant side on a day that there was cheap pasta, we were absolutely surrounded by dining families with small children. It was a madhouse and there was a lineup at the door as well! I didn't mind the children's crying because it was more like were just there for a pit-stop, not a fine dining experience, but I was sure happy to have the peace and quiet of my childless truck afterward!
This dining experience was very good overall. The server had greeted us and said she was new, but ultimately she did a good job. Even better is that after we had a pint of beer, a pop, two salads and two entrees, our bill was under $35!! On Tuesday night's this is the place to dine! If I am ever looking for a place to eat in Mackenzie Towne again, we might try this restaurant again!

by SaBella (from Calgary) January 2009 - A couple of us dined at the Boston Pizza in Dalhousie and found it to be a good experience overall. The price was pretty good considering we went on a Tuesday which is their Pasta Tuesday day and got a good deal. We also had the Spicy Perogy pizza which seemed like an odd type of pizza but was really good! I definitely recommend it. We sat in the lounge, which was great because you get to pick your own seat there and our server was friendly. The only downside was how long it took to get our food. It took quite a while even though it didn't seem overly busy for a Tuesday night and we also noticed that some people who sat down after us, ended up getting their food before us. Not sure what was up with that, but I'd still go back to this location and try it again.

by Zachary (from Calgary, AB) January 2009 - The Boston Pizza on Memorial is very close to the Mayland Heights SAIT campus, so after class on a Friday at noon, a group of my classmates and I decided to stop in there for a bite to eat and a refreshing beer.
I chose to have the personal-sized pepperoni pizza and a schooner-size of Rickards Red. The pizza was very delicious, it was piping hot when it arrived and I quickly devoured it. Even better was the price, it cost a mere $8. The beer was very tasty as well, so tasty in fact that I had to have two!
The restaurant was fairly busy and the server was good. The food and the beers arrived promptly and we were never left waiting around.
I have visited this Boston Pizza location on several occasions and have always left satisfied, and this particular visit was no different. I'm sure I'll be heading there for lunch or dinner again soon.

| "Waiting......" |

|
by Denny (from Calgary) December 2008 - The experience at Boston Pizza in Westbrook began after the lunch rush and it felt like the urgency for service had disappeared. A group of us sat in the restaurant and quickly decided that pizza and beer were on the agenda. We had one person lagging behind and ordered our drinks, as well as water before he came.
As we waited for our drinks, our friend had arrived and quickly ordered the beverage of his liking. We definitely had to wait for beverages to appear, it took at least eight to 10 minutes for them to arrive at our table. Being as it was pretty slow after the lunch rush in the restaurant, we assumed our service would be more prompt, but instead we had extremely sub-par service.
The pizza, when it arrived, was fantastic. However, the service was just too inexperienced to be enjoyable. It took too long to get our drinks and to get our food that it overshadowed the delicious taste of the meal once we had received it."

by AM (from Calgary) November 2007 - I'm not a fan of Boston Pizza but my sister wanted to go so the two of us and a few others headed to the BPs at Country Hills. Upon getting there, we were greeted by a server and she proceeded to prepare a table for us while we waited at the entrance. A few seconds later, another server came over and tried to prepare a table for us as well. We told her we were already waiting and she asked us to point out who was helping us. When she saw the other girl, she said something along the lines of, “Oh her... No, I'll help you instead.” She then went off and started to prepare a different table for us. Well, the first girl won and we were seated. But guess who ends up being our server anyways? The second girl! Strange customer service tactics they have going on there... The rest of dinner was uneventful. Service nothing exceptional. My ciabatta chicken sandwich was good but the fries were dry and cold, as if they had been sitting around for a while. I asked the server to pack the other half of my sandwich, which she forget to bring back to me. Whatever, no big deal but annoying either way. Won't be back to this BP. The service is just really off and there are better BPs in the city anyways.

by Frank (from Calgary) May 2007 - We had gone to Boston Pizza a few times in the past and had fairly good pizzas in the past. This visit was no different but the price seemed to have gone up considerably. We had two medium pizzas between myself and my two teenaged kids, 1 beer and 2 pops. The total came to about $65 before tip. Although the pizzas were quite good, the total price was a bit of a shock!
