August 2007 - Check out Cabernet, it's a small bistro lounge on Stephen Avenue serving up a variety of sandwiches. I tried their Reuben and it was quite nice with a decent portion of Montreal smoked meat on nicely toasted Winnipeg rye bread, served with coleslaw and your choice of sides. I had just some fruit but they also have maple mashed sweet potatoes and Cajun potato salad. The service was very prompt and friendly making this an ideal spot for lunch, especially in the downtown core. I also really liked the atmosphere, very casual but contemporary with a mix of brick and wood decor.
