November 2009 - I met up with my boyfriend during my lunch hour at work. This little joint has a lot of seating and is located just off the beltline of downtown Calgary. It seemed very efficiently run although I really think a change in the décor would really help the place. It could really be a cute little café if they tried. Anyway, the menu is quite typical with sandwiches with fries, salads, etc. I ordered the club sandwich with fries. The place was not that busy when we got there so I did not have to wait too long to get my order. They brought the food to us so we would not have to wait in line so that was nice of them. Since it’s so close to my work, I’m sure we’ll meet up here again soon. Give it a try if you’re looking for a quick bite to eat.

May 2009 - This is a humble little family run café that serves coffee, muffins, sandwiches and daily specials. It is located near the beltline on 4th street and 11th avenue SW. We arrived at noon and found the café fairly empty with plenty of seating. It was nicely air conditioned which was a relief for the hot summer day. There was nothing special about the décor, and reminded me of a high school cafeteria. I ordered the monte cristo and my friend ordered the daily special of Teriyaki Beef on rice. Since the Teriyaki Beef was pre-made it arrived fairly quickly. However my sandwich took a long time. My friend finished eating and I was still waiting. According to my watch it took 35 minutes for my sandwich to come, I was a little disappointed in the long wait time especially considering they were not that busy to begin with. However, the sandwich was pretty good but my friend expressed disappointment in his meal. He said the meat was dry and sauce was watery and would probably not be a repeat visit for him. This may have been an off day for them, and since I like to support independent businesses I will likely return again to give them a second chance.
