"Great beer, good food"

by Chris (from Calgary)
September 2009 - Brewster's is a micro-brewery with a dozen different specialty brews which offers a change from having to drink the same old, warm draught found in other establishments.

Their beers are quite good, especially the Hammerhead Red Ale and the Bow Valley Brown. Both are strongly flavourful brews. I don't like fruit in my beer, but a person I was with ordered the Raspberry Wheat Ale which came with frozen raspberries floating in it. I like the variety of beers here.

I ordered the steak sandwich ($15) and was impressed with the garlic and rosemary slice of toast they served it on. The steak had a bit of spice to it that made it go well with the Brown Ale. My dinner companion ordered the prime rib cheddar burger which received a good grade. They had changed the menu since the last time I was in, but they still have a good variety of meal options to go with the beer. The price seemed a bit heavy for the amount of food, however. If they took about three or four bucks off everything on their menu, it would be more balanced.

Other than that, I like Brewster's and their collection of tasty beers. It's worth a visit.

"A Great Place"

by Gary (from Calgary)
August 2009 - What a great place! I liked everything about Brewsters! I loved the list of beers on the back of the menu, and I could return again and again just to sample them. A 60 oz. jug of any of the beers was on special for $13. I tried the Irish Ale, which was a fairly dark and medium to full-bodied. It definitely had flavor and I knew I was drinking a beer, not one of the watery concoctions from some well known breweries. Brewsters is dimly lit with a candle on each table on the restaurant side, but I didn't check out the pub side. The soft lighting is very complimentary to skin, so it may be a good place to go on a date. Available starters included chicken wings, calamari, prawns quesadilla and much more. Most were around $11. For my entree, I chose the Thai Chicken Wrap and the soup of the day which was tomato and salmon. The soup was absolutely delicious! I savored every spoonful of that tart and creamy flavour. The wrap was delightful as well. The zing of the sweet thai chili sauce worked wonders on the chicken and veggies. I highly recommend this meal! And for only $11! The place was fairly busy, but it was a Friday evening. Check out Brewsters!

"Great Dining Spot"

by Pamela (from Lacombe)
December 2008 - This is a great dining spot to try in Calgary's northwest area. Brewsters has a wide variety of dishes on the menu ranging from traditional beef and chicken dishes to exotic Asian salads. I highly recommend their Chicken Cordon Brew which is so tender and juicy that it melts in your mouth. I've always found the food here to be delicious with fresh seasonal ingredients. One of my favourite things about this restaurant is that it has its own little micro brewery attached and they serve up a variety of ales ranging from light and fruity to dark and heavy as well as seasonal brews for winter and summer months. The restaurant's menu also recommends the perfect ale to compliment your meal and I found their suggestions helpful in deciding which brew to order.

The restaurant is clean, modern and the service is good. This is a great place to dine at any time but I always enjoy sitting on their patio during the summer and sipping on one of their fruity ales.

"Great Beer Selection"

August 2008 - I went to Brewsters for the first time on my birthday and really enjoyed it. They have a large selection of ales and lagers to choose from. I went with the River City Raspberry Wheat Ale, which even had raspberries floating on top. It was very tasty. I like how next to the descriptions of the beers they give a suggestion of what dish from their menu would go best with that particular beer. Brewsters is a great place to meet up with friends over a beer.

"Surpisingly good!"

by Kelsey (from Calgary)
September 2007 - I met friends at Brewsters (11th ave location) for drinks and dinner. I had not been into a Brewsters in years and did not know what to expect. I was pleasantly surprised! There were so many options on the menu that sounded so good, it took me awhile to decide. To make things even better, they were reasonably priced. The meals arrived quickly and we were all very satisfied with our orders. Great food and good service.

"Service, Service, Service"

August 2007 - After the Flames game on the weekend we headed over to Brewsters for a few (more) drinks. There was no line and we easily found a booth.

The waitress was very friendly and served us quickly. Not to mention the few house brand beers that we tried were very good.

We would go back again!

"Great Beer, Decent Food"

by Mike (from Calgary, AB)
April 2007 - My wife and I stopped in at the Brewsters Crowfoot location yesterday for some appetizers and a beer. The hot wings were delicious but the calamari was very average. Our brews were cold and tasty (we both had the Original Lager) and the service was fine. Overall, I'd say we had a positive experience, but nothing exceptional.

"Always a Reliable Dining Experience!"

by Jocelyn (from Calgary, AB)
October 2006 - I have been a fan of Brewsters for a long time. Yesterday we visited the Crowfoot location for lunch and were yet again pleased with the overall experience. We were on a short timeline and even though the restaurant was quite full with the lunch crowd, our server ensured us that our food would be out quickly and that we could be out of there in an hour. She was right. I ordered the California quesadilla with a whole wheat tortilla and it was very delicious. My husband got the Chicken Greek Wrap (it had a different name like Tatzalaki or something like that) and he said it tasted healthy, but was good. Our friends had a pizza and the prime rib burger and there were no complaints there. I will be visiting Brewsters again.
