August 2007 - I go to the Midtown Market Co-op when I can't be bothered walking the 3 blocks further to Safeway. I think in general it is a little more expensive than Safeway, but it's also a large, attractive supermarket with a lot of specialty foods in addition to regular groceries. It only costs $1 to become a co-op member, but even if you're not you can still shop there. I like the convenience of the self-check-out counters too. The Co-op liquor store across the carpark is great for wine, they have a wide selection of wines from around the world. Lots of international beers can be found in the big walk-in beer fridge too.
