May 2008 - I have flown around the world on many different airlines. Each one has one or two memorable things about it, good or bad. Canadian North exceeds all of these airlines. Booking our tickets was so easy. I went online to their website and checked all the flights. Then, just to be sure, I called the call station to reserve our tickets. Flying from Edmonton to Iqaluit cost about $6500 for two people. This is a totally normal cost, given the distance and remoteness of Iqaluit. I would have no problem paying this price again for Canadian North tickets. There was no line up as we checked-in in Edmonton. The girl at the counter was wonderful. I had checked their baggage restriction on line, but I had a bag that was too big. She did not charge me a dime for the overage. She gave us our tickets and we waited for our flight. I had my 6 year old brother with me and so we were asked if we wanted to pre-board the flight. We did and were shown to our seats. The take off was smooth and the stewardess brought my brother a coloring book and punch out dolls. She must have come by every 30 minutes to check on us. We were given hot facecloths before our meal. We were served full meals, from salads to dinner rolls to a main course of bison stew, then dessert. And yes, we used real silverware. After dinner we were served complimentary Bailieys, and coffee with whipped cream and chocolate mint patties. Our bags were quick to come off the conveyer belt and were in good shape. I would recommend Canadian North Airline to anyone planning to travel in Canada’s North.
