| "Exactly What We Expected!" |

February 2007 - A group of five us were searching for a room that could accommodate us all during our stay in Edmonton, and happened upon the Alberta Place Suite Hotel. The hotel offer three types of suites, and we opted for the Family Suite. It had two twin beds in the bedroom and a queen-sized bed in the living room, as well as a pull-out couch. The apartment was very large and had a full kitchen and a dining room. The suite is exactly what we expected and served its purpose well. The front desk staff was courteous, but the swimming pool was broken. Good thing we didn't really want to go swimming anyway!

June 2006 - The underground parking they have will only park cars and small suv's. The clearance is under 6'2" they said at the front desk. They allow you to use the lot across the street if you have a taller vehicle. There did not appear to be anyone ever patrolling this lot. There were 2 vehicle break-ins during the one weekend. Vehicle window glass is everywhere in this lot (you can see it's vehicle glass because of the small square shape the tempered glass smashes into, unlike bottle glass etc.) , so vehicle break-ins are obviously a frequent occurence. We stayed there in the summer and again in the winter thinking that it was an isolated experience. Same thing both times.

One of the biggest crimes occurring in Edmonton is vehicle theft and vandalism. Unfortunately we all become victims both directly and indirectly. The best prevention against car vandalism is to leave ABSOLUTELY NOTHING inside the vehicles, e.g. loose change, CD's, food, clothing, etc. We have noticed that the greatest percentage of cars broken into had left items inside the vehicle. We can't stop this crime but by being smart about it we can help reduce the frequency of these occurrences
