| "Great food and history too!" |

by Mary (from Camrose) March 2008 - The Sawmill in Edmonton(South)is one of several food services the owner has in the city. It has been pleasing customers for many years. It seems quite dark when you enter, but one soon adjusts, and can appreciate the sawmill history displayed throughout the dining room. The room has several dividers and is on two levels, so there is hardly a table or booth where privacy is not available. The business also has a lounge, and outdoor patio. The menu has high quality food choices, with good Alberta beef one of the main features. We chose the dinner buffet, mainly because of time issues. All of the meals, including the buffet at $17.95, are in the more expensive range, but if quality and quantity are important to you, you are never disappointed. The salad buffet includes several hearty meat salads, lots of seafood, dietary dressings, more selections than one could possibly sample,etc.,etc. Our server was attentive and seemed to know just the right time to return to our table.

| "Is the Sawmill losing it's touch??" |

by Rachelle (from Edmonton, Alberta) July 2007 -
My mother went to the downtown Sawmill last Wednesday. I ordered the lobster, and my mother ordered the chicken with seafood. The lobster was small and overcooked. The chicken tasted burnt and tough for chicken breast. The salad bar was not filled up and the selection for a salad bar which you charge $9+ with an entree was not worth it. I was very disappointed. I expected much more.

by Sarah (from Calgary, AB) February 2007 - We tried out the Sawmill for the first time this past weekend when we were in Edmonton. We dined at the location on 104th Avenue and sat in the pub part. We could order from either the steakhouse menu or the pub menu, meaning there was a very large selection. We got the nachos to start and they were HUGE. They fed six people and we were pretty full after eating them. However, we ordered dinner as well, and I had the beef dip. Pretty typical, but delicious. The Sawmill Logger Beer quenched my thirst. When I'm in Edmonton again, I will probably dine at the Sawmill again.
