June 2007 - My husband and I ate at Milestone's for the first time on Saturday night. Our main reason for choosing it was that it was the only restaurant in South Edmonton Common that didn't have a one hour wait. It's a beautiful building, inside and out. The decor is very stylish and trendy, with a lot of booths and a great looking lounge. The service was ok, and the wait to get in was minimal. We both ordered the steak special, with "lime" shrimp on top. The steak was tender and cooked to perfection, the shrimp was also tasty. However, no lime flavour could be detected. The "rub" on the steak was a little gritty and tasted more like cloves and cinnamon than lime. As well, we ordered the calamari to start, and it was ok, but not great. They were trying for an untraditional take on calamari, and I felt, didn't really pull it off. Overall, it was ok. We would probably try some place else for steak though, before we go back.
