August 2007 - We visited for lunch and the atmosphere was cordial -- and the waiter was
pleasant --
We visited as a result of a review in the paper and on the net --
we were disappointed on a couple of areas -
1. The lunch prices were higher than we expected - we planned on
around $6 / per person for lunch - we ended up at $16 / person plus tip
2. We had the impression that we would get a good quantity of food - we were
hungry - we were disappointed with the quantity supplied -- our impression
from our experiences in Mexico and otherwise that the quantity would be
ample - this restaurant did not meet our expectations
3. This is a family business and I would like to see them survive and prosper -
they may need to change venue (a lower cost place)
-- find out how to provide more food to those who want it by offering
2nds or larger sizes (rework the menu)
-- offer water to all who come in -- we had to ask for water and saw as
the only reference on the menu was to bottled water
4. they could know more about their competition -- when $6 specials are everywhere for lunch they need to build their business -- every customer that comes in the door should leave impressed and happy and want to return and most importantly recommend them to their freinds / family and all they meet
$48 for 3 for lunch is just to much and we will not be going back unless they can
revamp their business lunch offerings

July 2007 - This is the best mexican restaurant in the city. It's a small family-run restaurant. They have a deli where you can buy their food in bulk and take it home. Having recently been to Mexico, this is the most authentic tasting Mexican food we've found in the city. It actually tastes like home-cooked, family recipes. The beef burrito is my favorite. As well, this is honestly the BEST tasting and best priced Chorizo sausage I've ever had outside of Mexico. The Chorizo con Queso is a heart-attack waiting to happen, but so worth it - chorizo smothered in a pound of cheese - YUM!!! I highly recommend this great little find. My husband and I have been twice, and the staff remembered us the second time. Truly authentic Mexican food cooked by a friendly Mexican family. Love it, and will be back often!
