| "Surprisingly good." |
by Jane (from Edmonton, AB) September 2007 - My husband and I have eaten at the Kingsawy Ave location before, the last time was probably about a year ago. We were very unimpressed, and just didn't go back. Yesterday we were in the nighborhood, and we were starving, so we decided to give it another shot. We were both pleasantly surprised. Maybe it's because we expected to be disappointed, or maybe the restaurant has improved. Who knows. But we were impressed.
It was busy, but we were seated right away. Our server was amazing. She was friendly and efficient. Considering how busy it was, our food didn't take too long - about a normal wait-time. Our meals were good. Everytime our cups got down to about half empty, the server would wisk them away and fill them up. Overall, there was nothing to complain about.
This Moxies, we find, does not have the same atmosphere as some of the more upscale-looking locations. And, we've felt in the past, that it doesn't live up to the same reputation for food and service. But, our opinion changed yesterday. I now have no fear about going back and getting as good food and service as we've come to expect at other Moxies locations.

| "Stopped Serving Brunch Early" |
by Jane (from Edmonton, AB) July 2007 - St Albert Trail location. Went for "brunch" on Sunday. We placed our order at 1:50. The waitress came back and said that the kitchen had stopped serving brunch. With approximately 10 minutes to 2. I asked why, since the menu clearly stated brunch was served until 2, and the waitress had given us brunch menu's and told us the same thing. She had no answer and said "I don't know why, but the kitchen just stopped". Extremely un-impressive. Especially for a restaurant that prides itself on meeting every customer need. As far as I'm concerned, if you advertise you serve brunch until 2, you should. If anything, you should serve it until 2:10, not 1:50. I had no choice but to order something else. The food was ok, but I was disappointed. The waitress was very apoligetic, it wasn't her fault, we know. She gave us our drinks for free (2 iced teas) to try to compensate for the complete lack of professionalism on behalf of the kitchen. The manager did not even stop by to apoligize.
