November 2007 - We had considered driving the approximately one hour to get home after arriving at the Edmonton International Airport from our holiday trip. Our better judgement said that an arrival in the middle of the night, plus the time it takes to go through all the necessary processes , was not a good way to get out onto the highway. How happy we were to have this reservation. The Executive Royal Inn is the closest hotel to the airport, and with the delays we had, we arrived at 5:30 AM. The staff is prepared for this type of arrival, and were very efficient in getting us registered. Our room was down at the end of a hall, out of the line of traffic. We were very pleased with this. The room was quite basic, very clean, but the hotel appears to be going through some upgrades. The registrar suggested a delayed check-out at no extra charge so were able to get a reasonable sleep. If we have another flight in the middle of the night like this, I know that The Royal Executive Inn is a reasonably priced, convenient choice to make.
