October 2006 - We rented a beachfront unit, which was spacious & comfortable inside (outside a bit unkempt) & the owner & staff were friendly & courteous, but not easy to locate--the office was often unoccupied. The first day was lovely & we had a great time. (We did notice some mouse droppings, but the unit was otherwise very tidy & well kept.) The drawback was that on the 2nd night of our stay the noise of some type of pump or generator (?) on premises kept us awake all night with it's incessant, loud hum. (This noise was not present the 1st night.) It never stayed off, just kept going on/off-on/off ALL NIIGHT. The following morning we discovered there was no water, at all, coming from any of the taps. That meant no shower, no cooking, etc. Our cell had no reception, there was no on site phone, and there was no one around in the office to report the incident to, so we just left, hours before checkout, kind of feeling like we didn't get our money's worth. Not a completely horrible experience, but a somewhat disappointing one overall.
