| "Best Inn of Newfoundland" |
by Richard (from Toronto) October 2006 - My wife and I visited St Johns for a week this October. We stayed at the loveliest B&B called the Angel House Heritage Inn. The place was historically charming and lovely, the proprietors very knowledgable, friendly and the service was terrific. While the Inn itself was probably one hundred years old or more, the place was modernized where it needed to be while still retaining all of the period charm. Our room was spacious, quiet and serene, the views out the window were lovely, There were three things that stood out in particular for me. First, our hosts were just great. We had an excellent time meeting them and their company of friends, neighbors and visitors. They were very helpful and kind and were there for as much or as little attention as we required during our stay. Secondly, and it was a very close second, the food was absolutely fantastic. You could not get a better meal in any restaurant in town. I have never been afforded such fabulous fare in any B&B or world class hotel anywhere. Amazing gourmet breakfasts and the best coffee. Thirdly, we had the most comfortable bed I have slept in in years, bar none. While we did not have much time for TV, the room had one and it was stocked with hundreds of interesting films, documentaries and movies of every kind that we planned on taking in on rainy days. I would highly recommend this B&B to anyone wanting to visit St Johns for a few days or a few weeks. Five stars!!!
