February 2008 - Trinity restaurant is an upscale eatery that serves food and drinks at brunch, lunch, and dinner. Recommended by friends who place Trinity in their top five restaurants in the city, we dined there one Friday evening with anticipation. The service is very good and is able to aid in the selection of wines with the meal. They are also able to point to several of the better dishes on the menu. We started off with the Sweet Potato Fries to share. A lot of people rave about them. I considered them average. We ordered a half bottle of Shiraz with the Crepes Florentine and the Maple Curry Chicken Pasta as mains. My partner and I were split on the wine. I thought it was good while they thought the taste was too sharp. Our meals appeared prepared with care but they did not seem to pop. There was barely a hint of maple in the curry and there was very little curry in the pasta overall. The crepes and the pasta cost $15 and $16 respectively before tax. Most mains range in price from $15 to $25. The restaurant itself is a bit hard to find as it is located a block off the main restaurant drag and sits beneath a set of apartments. Our experience at Trinity was good but not great.
