| "Best Thai in the City" |

April 2008 - Cha Baa Thai serves up the best Thai food in Halifax. Supposedly, the restaurant’s chef has won several awards for his cooking. Whether true or not, the food is fantastic. Cha Baa is a little bit difficult to find as it is two blocks off Spring Garden Road. It also seems to be on its own for the most part. The interior is new and clean and very open with its high ceilings. While the food was good the service was not. The place was quite busy but only featured one or two wait staff. It took about 30 minutes to put in our order. We tried the Crispy Fried Noodles to start. They were crispy and lightly seasoned. For mains, four of us shared Panang Chicken, Masaman Curry Beef, and Pad Thai Chicken. The Curry Beef was not too spicy and had a very rich flavour. The Pad Thai was great. Most dishes cost about $12 before tax and a decent bottle of wine costs about $30. Rice must be ordered on the side. I have heard nothing but good reviews about this restaurant. I will definitely go to Cha Baa Thai again.
