by Sheila (from Ottawa) May 2008 - We came across this little gem by accident and spent more than an hour there. It's located beside the library and tourist information office. We got a personal tour with stories from a local man, a former logger. Lots of interesting stuff to see including snowshoes for horses; logging, farming and sternwheeler boat displays; a collection of unique artwork by E.J.Leveque, local barber, pool hall operator and collector of various things; and a pickled piglet with 3 eyes, 3 tongues, 2 tails and 8 legs . Perhaps the most significant thing we learned was about the Sinixt Nation, the Arrow Lakes Peoples, whose descendants continue to maintain a presence locally in spite of an apparent genocide perpetrated against them, and having been declared officially extinct by the Canadian government. And just up the road a few blocks is a great place to eat, Middle Earth Cafe. I would highly recommend both museum and cafe.
