"Vegan Food Made With Love"
9.33
by Susan (from Nelson BC)
July 2007 - I felt like I had died and gone to heaven when I found this place. This family owned and operated authentic East Indian restaurant has perfect vegetarian food ready to take away to a picnic or eat in. The restaurant has no meat, dairy (except yogurt), nuts, fish, eggs, aluminum pots or a microwave on the premises. The food was extremely delicious and not expensive! I had a Bhima plate for $9.95 which consisted of Kofta Balls, fancy basmati rice with saffron and turmeric, cauliflower potatoes, mixed bell pepper and organic yam, mango pickles, organic greens, carrots and sprouts with a lemon and olive oil dressing, and, of course, some of Ayra, the owner's famous homemade organic pineapple chutney. Various condiments were available such as sunflower seeds. Jaganatha buys organically and locally whenever possible, such as the carrots from Lemon Creek Farm and the sprouts from Glade Mountain Farm. The freshly squeezed organic vegetable juices are to die for. And the pies, cakes and other desserts are beyond belief.
