August 2006 - Loved the view, the rustic, historic lodge. Wonderful alpine hiking.
Unfortunately, the food and service were so poor that we left early, not even asking for breakfast the day of departure. On the day we wanted to do our long hike, exploring Yoho, breakfast was not served til after 11:00am, and we were the only paying guests. Bread in our lunch was cheap and stale and snack was oreo cookies. When we returned from a 20 km hike, and were very hungry, we were given some stale crackers and cheese. I asked for something more and was given 1 delicious homemade butter tart. My friend sitting beside me went to the kitchen to ask if she could have one also. Breakfast toast was burnt. Dinner not served til nearly 9:30pm, and it was a ham dinner but the quality of food was very poor (canned corn). Food seemed stale. We both had severe cramps and pains all night and left for the walk out at sunrise.Cost $200 night per person. Never again until new management.
