| "The worst place to stay!!" |

December 2007 - December 2007 (Month Visited) — "Three of us shared had a kitchenette suite from Dec 29-Jan 1. We cancelled our original reservations accross the road to what we thought was an upgrade! The hot tub didn't work for 2 of our 3 days, the drapes kept falling off, we had to ask for batteries for the remote & a frying pan. The plug for the bath tub didn't fit so you could even have a hot bath. The main cutting knife was a flimsy, dull bread knife and there was no ladle for soups or sauces. The staff is fantastic at apologizing and is very polite but don’t really do anything about the problem. She offered us only either a $35.00 refund which didn't even cover the taxes we paid on our $350 bill, or another stay at a discounted rate but would not give anything in writing. In attempting to discuss the situation it turned into a heated argument and ended in her finally agreeing to refund one night stay to then leaving a voice mail revoking the refund.

We are the sportsman lodge pride in our quality and service. Due to the misuse of the hot tub, the hot tub had to be emptied and refilled. Therefore, the hot tub was not ready by the evening. This client upon her departure from our hotel, three days later, requested a refund. We profusely apologised for any inconvenience and offered a 10% discount as well as an oppotunity to visit us again at a discounted rate. The client agreed to this however, phone called demanding a a full refund. When a full refund was refused she threatned to "give bad publicity." Initially, refund was offered to in order to "avoid bad publicity" the client threatend with. However, her behaviour is unethical and illegal. Therefore, she was told that the Sportsman Lodge would welcome an opportunity to serve her better however, blackmailing and threats was inappropriate and intolerable.
