by Sarah (from Calgary, AB) July 2006 - We spent two nights at the Golden Eco-Adventure Ranch and were pleasantly surprised with the intimate feel of this campground. We stayed in the walk-in tent sites and were happy to see that they were large and just a very short walk from the parking lot. The restrooms were the best I've ever seen at a campground. Located in a cabin-style building, they were VERY clean and the water was hot. There is even a swimming hole with a rope that you can jump into this pond with! The only downfall was that the mosquitoes were horrendous when we were there. However, after lighting a fire and putting on about a can of bug spray, I didn't really notice them as much... perhaps it was the beer that made the pain of being bitten subside.

by Sarah (from Calgary) July 2006 - I recently went white water rafting in Golden and stayed at the Golden Eco-Adventure Ranch Campground during my trip. The campground was fabulous, the bathrooms were emaculate and fully equipped with hot water, showers and laundry facilities. The washhouse looked like a wooden A-frame loft -I would have lived there if I could have! The only issue I had with the showers, was the times that they were closed for cleaning, 10am-12pm, prime showing hours! I do, however, suggest bringing wood as apposed to buying the five-dollar bundles for sale. They only last about half an hour. The property on which the campground is located, offers a range of outdoor activities through various tour groups, including horseback riding trips and paragliding off the surrounding mountains -which I did and highly recommend to all. Another nice feature of the campground was the on-site spring fed swimming pond, a bit chilly, but very invigorating. Unfortunately, all this said, the mosquitoes dominated our stay. The campground is located near a large wetland park and therefore the mozzies were out in full force. If you are brave and bring all the necessary precautions, namely bug coils, citronella candles and bug spray; you'll probably be OK. And as a side note, although the gas station down the street sells fireworks, don’t get the wrong idea, they are not allowed to be launched in this campground!
