April 2008 - I just went to Bad Paul's last week, and was so impressed with the service, ambience, and especially food, that I checked out the reviews on this great restaurant. This is definitely a place to visit whenever you are within 50 miles of Revelstoke. Their steak is done just right, for everyone's taste, and the secret spices they use for marinating them is a point of wonder. I would absolutely encourage everyone, men, women , and child, to come to a relaxed, clean, and friendly atmosphere. The washrooms smelled like a spring garden, even after my visit! The waitress was so caring and attentitive, she really made me feel like I was the only person in the restaurant, when she was actually juggling about seven tables at once. Everyone had big smiles on their faces, and the nachos which I ordered before the steak was enough to feed at least four people. The manager even made an appearance and greeted every table with free beverages. I will be coming back as often as possible.

September 2007 - We stopped in Revelstoke to eat when driving back from the Okanagan, and happened upon Bad Paul's. It looked like a good place to try since it had a wide variety of menu items to choose from. On their sign they say they have steaks, Mexican, pasta etc, but in actuality they only have two Mexican dishes and two pastas to choose from on their lunch menu - I wouldn't call them a Mexican or Pasta restaurant, that's for sure!
The patio is quite nice and spacious, but we opted to dine inside to avoid the screaming babies on the patio. The decor is not bad, but I really can't remember anything too memorable about it. The service was satisfactory, she did her job...but there was no real friendliness or effort put in to make herself seem more than just a monotone robot.
I opted for the chicken quesadilla, while two others in our party got the clubhouse and another got the chicken sandwich. The menu also had salads, burgers and appetizers on it.
My quesadilla was okay, but nothing to write home about. They offered guacamole and when I got it, it was so disgusting. I think it was rotten actually. It was brown and flavourless - just like they mashed avocado and put nothing in it. As for the quesadilla, it was not bad - I ate the whole thing. It was pretty average.
At Bad Paul's there is pretty much something on the menu that will please even the most picky eater, so it's a good place to go with a group. I'm not sure what else Revelstoke offers, but next time I'm in town I will probably try somewhere else. Nothing was wrong with the meal, but it was not an amazing dining experience. The rest of the party thought the food was good, the service was fine and they didn't have anything to complain about, so maybe it's just me!
