October 2007 - We found ourselves driving through the Rockies on Thanksgiving Day and what better way to celebrate then to stop at the Monashee Family Dining Room at Three Valley Lake Chateau. We enjoyed a guided tour at the Three Valley Gap Ghost Town then stopped for dinner at their dining room. Much to our surprise, the man responsible for this historic tourist attraction, Gordon Bell, was eating dinner and honoured us with his autograph.
Being Thanksgiving we were hoping for a turkey dinner but settled for the roast beef special. It was absolutely delicious and came with lots of seasonal vegetables. Our smallest guest decided on the lasso dinner which included a hot dog and french fries - it was so satisfying that she actually feel asleep during dinner.
The prices were quite reasonable and our server was extremely friendly. She made the dining experience that much more enjoyable. The decor of the dining room is dated but goes with the historic look of the property. And the view is well worth the stop!
