"Overpriced and overrated"

by Trygve (from Prior Lake, MN)
August 2007 - This stay was our only disappointment during our travel through the Canadian Rockies. The facility was generally run-down and dumpy. Soundproofing in our room was virtually non-existent. Plumbing noises kept us awake from 10pm through 1am. Room was reasonably clean, but dark and dingy. The advertised "spectacular view" was of the petrol station next door.

Check-in staff was unpleasant, claiming to have no record of our reservation. In retrospect, we should have taken the opportunity to go elsewhere, as there were vacancies in other facilities in Valemount.

"Smelly and overpriced"

by Robert (from Toronto)
July 2007 - As you can imagine from the title, this was one of the poorest motels we've ever stayed in. When we arrived at the reception our suspicions were first raised when we were told there was no need to check out, just 'leave the key in the room.' No doubt this was deliberate of reception to avoid being inundated by complaints every morning.
The room was stuffy and smelly, dark, uninviting, outdated and offered unsightly views of the decaying, rotten woodwork of the opposite side of the motel.
Moreover, we had to live with the fact that this was our most expensive stop out of four varying motel locations throughout our jaunt through the Rockies.

Be aware, stay away.
