July 2007 - This incredible little bistro is attached to the Domaine de Chaberton winery down near the border in far south Langley (1064 - 216 Street) but there are signs from every direction for the winery so it's easy to find. There is both an extensive menu or a three-course set dinner to choose from; go for the set dinner!!! For under $30, you get a choice of appetizer, main and dessert. I have been about ten times with different groups and every time we have been amazed by the huge portions and amazing flavours involved; it is truly a slow-food experience beyond compare!!!
I have had a wonderful rabbit in garlic cream sauce, fork-tender Italian-style veal roast, baked halibut, and others. Save room for dessert, however, as their rotating choices always include something for the chocoholic, something lighter, etc.
The only thing that could possibly match the food served here are the incredible service by well-trained, informative and friendly servers, AND the wine! Did I mention it is attached to a winery?!? I am usually a red drinker but their Bacchus white is fruity and smooth, a real treat (and the attached store will arrange for delivery to your home--free in the Lower Mainland--or pack it for you to take with you).
I can honestly not say enough great things about this little treasure! Head out for a late lunch and spend the day exploring the shops of Fort Langley or make a dinner reservation for a special occasion. Reservations are recommended, by the way; give a call to 604-530-9694 and reserve for a wonderful experience (they do not always answer but will call you back within 24 hours).
