March 2008 - My husband, myself, our 2 daughters and our sheltie, stayed in a room at the La Quinta in Richmond, BC. I was a little worried what it would be like as it was only $89 a night including the dog. But to our amazement, it was a really good hotel. It was very clean, and the bathroom was very clean also. We had absolutely no issues with the room or the staff. They have a breakfast bar that starts at 6 am, and you can even make your own waffles. We ordered pizza from Pizza Factory...not bad for delivery right to the room. There is wireless internet in the lobby and a business room with computers. We needed wireless in our room, so we just asked at the front desk and they gave us a cable to connect to the laptop. No fee was involved. We also got a Globe and Mail delivered right to the door every morning!
There is a Best Buy, and Lansdowne Mall is within walking distance. McDonalds is also just down the street.
Unfortunately we weren't allowed to leave the dog in the room, so this meant we had to take him everywhere we went. So if you had a dog that couldn't be left in the car, this leaves going to restaurants out of the question. Finding a restaurant that had take out was incredibly difficult. There are quite a bit of Japanese restaurants in Richmond, so if this isn't your thing, you might want to do some research.
They were paving a new section in the parking lot, so this made getting in and out of the lot around all the cement trucks a little difficult. For the few issues that we did have, it was worth the stay.
