March 2008 - My wife and I stumbled upon the Rooster Tail Grille accidentally while attempting to avoid the chain restaurants. It was a Sunday night and the place was absolutely dead, with three tables of 4 the whole time we were there. Our server was pleasant and helpful and what he lacked in menu knowledge he made up for with efficiency and a willingness to ask the chef. It looked to me like the place was pretty newly renovated. The dark leather banquettes were very comfortable and the view of the golf course made for a delightful sunday supper.
The menu was nice and simple with selections for the red meat eater, as well as the vegetarian and everything in between. We started with Pita with Hummus, I had the small portion prime rib which was served with vegetables and scalloped potatoes and my wife had poached salmon with white wine, creamy dill sauce with capers. The portions were large and we took half the pita/hummus home with us. The food was prepared well, cooked correctly, well seasoned and overall quite satisfying.
With a starter, two meals, a beer and an OJ we were out of there for $51 before the tip.
Overall, a big thumbs up for the Rooster Tail, we will go back for sure!
