October 2007 - This motel was our home for a week while vacationing in Vancouver. We chose it because it was one of the cheapest motel options we could find on the Internet, and the picture of the room looked decent enough. Unfortunately the special weekly rate advertised on their website was not available at the time of our booking, however they did give us a small discount on the nightly rate. While the front desk staff were not particularly friendly or helpful, the room was simple and clean and all amenities worked. There was lots of space for our luggage and the bed was very comfortable and in like-new condition. There was no coffee-maker, which we missed, but we had cable TV and a telephone that we could use as much as we liked it seemed for the compulsory $1 per day charge added to our bill. It was a little cold in the room so we were grateful for the efficient heater which we switched on first thing in the morning and in the evenings before bed. Friendly house-keeping staff refreshed the room every day which I didn't expect as we were staying for a week. Basically no complaints about the room in respect to the price we paid... although BC's steep accommodation tax decreases value for money a little. The location was great, just south of downtown, easy access to the city centre and southern suburbs, including the trendy Granville Island area and Kitsilano. I would say that front desk service and the strong musty smell in the corridor are the main areas in need of improvement.
