July 2007 - Thai Away Home is much more than just a witty name. They offer a variety of authentic Thai curries, noodle dishes, meal combinations and even a kids menu. They also offer a variety of Thai spices, sauces, noodles and pre-packed, MSG free Thai meals to cook at home, an ingenious idea that any bachelor or Thai food lover would be wise to take advantage of. The restaurant is quite small, offering seating room for 10-12 people max, but most people just get their meals to go, especially when it is busy. The service is always courteous and your order comes remarkably fast. If you are eating in, the first thing you will notice when your food is brought out is the size of the portions and their attention to presentation. For the price, you get a meal that is worthy of any traditional sit-down Thai restaurant. My personal favourites are the Panang Curry with Prawns, the Cashew Chicken with assorted veggies and the Red Curry with Pumpkin, with all dishes served with salad, rice and a spring roll and costing under eight dollars. A great meal for the price!
