August 2007 - Cupcakes by Heather and Lori is a dessert restaurant in downtown Vancouver on Denman Street. While very small, this place offers a variety of cupcakes and other desserts as well as a few hot and cold beverages.
While the inside decor is solid pink and not necessarily to my taste, the cupcakes certainly were. With more than a dozen different flavours to choose from, my sweet tooth definitely had a hard time picking one. Upon recommendation of the helpful staff, I chose the Caramello and had an espresso with it. The cupcake itself was moist, and the icing while delicious was a piled a bit too high. However, the caramel ooze in the middle more than made up for that. Needless to say it was a delicious experience. The espresso was also one of the better cups I've had although it was a tad bitter.
In addition to single cupcakes you can even order a cupcake wedding cake. Essentially a stack of cupcakes upwards of 8 or 9 layers high, I'm thinking this is definitely the way to go if I ever get married.
