June 2009 - Taking long cycle rides is becoming a bit of a habit for us, and this little café was half way along one of those bike rides. However, if you’re just walking in the beach area of Spanish Banks in Vancouver you’ll also stumble upon this café. It is right on the beachfront and has an open air seating area, no in-door seating.
The cafe has counter service and the menu had burgers, wraps fish and calamari, the calamari took my fancy. I ordered it with some sweet potato fries and when they were ready we took our food down to the beach and enjoyed the view of the ocean as we ate our seafood. These kinds of places are often, in my view, quite expensive for what you get and this was no exception to that rule. The portion was small, however, the food was good, if basic and deep-fried. I have to remember you are paying for convenience and location by the beach here and for that I’m not faulting the place at all!
